Working document for the continental stage
It is a great joy for me to present to you the Working Document for the Continental Stage of the Synod. The contents of the Document are a clear testimony of the process taking place in the Church. The summaries attest that where consultation has taken place, it has borne abundant fruit. The surprise of the group that collaborated in reading the summaries and writing the Document is the unique convergence on many points of contributions that came from very different ecclesial and cultural backgrounds. It is true that the Document was written from the summaries of the Bishops' Conferences and not directly from the contributions of the particular Churches. To assume that all the Bishops' Conferences purposely stifled the prophecy of the People of God is just as ideological as to assume otherwise. (...)
